Liverpool childrens nursery room
Little Robins (0-2)

This room is all about happiness, fun and building confidence. Inside, the babies learn through sensory experiences, like exploring fabrics, wooden instruments, pine cones, brushes or sponges in the treasure basket, or playing in the sand, water or messy play.

This room is filled with lots of lovely natural light but we want our babies to spend plenty of time outdoors too, which is why we’ve developed the baby garden. The babies have their own private outdoor space, away from the hustle and bustle of the bigger children. A covered, decked area means they can go out whatever the weather, while the garden boasts an outdoor sandpit, activity board and a musical instrument made with natural materials. This allows the babies to feel the fresh air on their faces, hear the birds sing and experience the different seasons.

We also have our own separate sensory room, where babies can go in small groups, relax on comfy cushions and listen to soothing music while watching a magical light show. Beautiful and peaceful.

This large room is a fantastic space, with specially-designed nooks and crannies for play and exploration. We want children’s imaginations to run wild, so we listen to what the children want and design areas using their ideas.

We’ve got our own, large, purpose-built indoor sandpit where children dig for treasure. The story corner allows children to be independent, take a book, share with a friend, or listen to a favourite tale. The ‘story sacks’ add that little bit extra, with each sack containing a book and props to bring it to life. What better way to enjoy Goldilocks than to sit with a bowl, spoon and a box of porridge!

It’s busy, busy, busy, which means we have our own activity workshop for painting, gluing and making robots or whatever we fancy!

Our children can also make constructions, dress up, build a train track, use the computer, play ‘house’… the choice is theirs.

Perhaps most popular of all, is our garden! The doors are open all day so children can go outside at any time and continue their play on a larger scale. The garden is packed full of wonderful things that the children love, including the playhouse – which becomes everything from a pirate’s ship to a post office – to the water pump and bamboo pipes which children use to work together and solve problems.

It’s fun and learning all rolled into one, with owner Louise Waller an experienced primary school teacher. She works with the team to make sure children receive the best preparation before they leap into primary.
