Little nursery’s big nature trail

Children at It's the Little Things nursery enjoyed a big day out for their annual leavers trip.

More than 20 tots, along with staff and parents from the Maghull site, ventured out to Merseyside's Acorn Farm to meet goats, sheep, pigs, cows and horses.

During the outing they also went on the Acorn Woodland walk for a closer glimpse at the trees and birds.

Louise Waller, owner of the Parkhaven Trust-based nursery, said: “It's always a fantastic trip. In the past we've been to the World Museum and the Formby red squirrel trail. We took a gamble with the weather and it paid off too!

”Obviously the children are used to having the aviary and the geese by the nursery and appreciate the animals, but there's nothing quite like visiting a farm. It's always a fantastic day out.“

She added: ”We have a amazing children, who all appreciate the outdoors. It will be sad to see them go, but hopefully they'll always remember their time with us and come back to see us too.“
